Sometimes events or experiences in our lives can cause us to feel sad, alone and helpless. Occasionally there can be no external reason for this onset. Often these feelings diminish after a short time, but when these feelings continue for weeks and months it can be a very dark and lonely place to be.
Depression, if left untreated, can be detrimental to our physical health, our relationships and our confidence. Depression can hold us back in our careers in our social lives and in our ability to get ahead in life.
Depression can be very debilitating, and at it’s worst, can lead to destructive behavior such as self-harm and even suicide.
