For many years, I have had a strong interest in complementary and natural therapies, as well as the mind-body connection. After years of informal study and courses in various subjects in this field, I came across Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
What appealed most to me was that it offered a neuroscientific basis to much of what I had already learned about how profoundly the mind can influence the body, and in fact, the course of our lives.
I did my training with The Clifton Practice and studied neuroscience research in combination with the very best of Solution Focused techniques, brain-based therapy, CBT, NLP and mindfulness.
Since establishing my practice in Singapore, where I lived for 9 years, I am completely immersed in this incredibly rewarding therapy of empowering people to help themselves and change their lives, by tapping into the wonders of their own brain.
My practice is now located on the Gold Coast, in Queensland, Australia. I see clients in person and also via Skype or Zoom in countries all over the world.
I trained with The Clifton Practice, which is a recognised Centre of Hypnotherapy Excellence in the UK and have gained the following qualifications:
I am registered with the following Professional Associations, and as such, am bound by their membership requirements and their Codes of Ethics:
Each of the above organisations ensure high ethical standards, including on-going professional development to keep members up to speed on the latest research and techniques in neuroscience, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.
I am accredited as a member of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association.
As Australia’s Gold Standard Hypnotherapy Association, the AHA was formed in 1949 and is thus not only the largest independent hypnotherapy association in Australia but also the oldest.
As a member, I am bound by their code of ethics and confidentiality and must meet their ongoing requirements and standards including having monthly supervision sessions and maintaining continuing professional development. I must also be insured, have a police record check, first aid certificate and a blue card if I am working with children.
The great benefit to my Australian clients with private health insurance is that if your fund covers hypnotherapy, my fees will be claimable.
