Julie and hypnotherapy magically appeared in my life when I was trying really hard to find a way to get out of a very destructive way of living. I had just given birth to my daughter 10 months ago and was struggling to get adjusted to this new way of life, trying to live up to my own (very high) expectations of being a mom and still trying to hold on to my old life - I was caught in this terrible spiral of overthinking my past actions and reactions and beating myself up about why I wasn’t acting and reacting in a different way. I felt very sad about not being able to enjoy the time with my daughter, as it seemed I was never really present. Last year, my elder boy, Rayden and I were not coping well due to the passing of our younger boy, Ares. Rayden was unstable emotionally and worried a lot. At times, he complained about his chest pain (likely due to missing Ares a lot). For me, I lost my sleep and was depressed. My close friend introduced Julie's hypnotherapy to us. During our individual sessions with Julie, she explained patiently how our brain works and how positive thinking is so important to us. We were taught various tools like using breathing in order to ease our tensions. Six years ago I was diagnosed with a rare and painful condition that affected my nervous system in certain areas of the body. Over the years, out of desperation, I tried every possible treatment I could find, including strong medications with extreme side effects and various natural therapies, but to little or no avail. I went to see Julie to try hypnotherapy because I was struggling with anxiety and stress due to demanding work and insistent negative thoughts towards myself. I came to Julie because for a long time I’d had trouble sleeping and could not actually pin point the issue. My job required long hours, travel and was not bringing me much joy. During our sessions, I was asked to imagine myself in places where I could feel peace and comfort, from there Julie guided me to visualise and focus on the things that would make me happy.
